Abstract
Emergence of theories, conceptual frameworks, and perception revolving on User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) were evident during the last decade, and still continuing up to this day.
Web OPAC has been operational with its mother system, UP iLib, since 2007. While both design and functional updates were made the following year, nothing really occurred much since then. The same outdated user interface, which does not promote positive user experience, is being used.
Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to evaluate current implementation of OPAC and pinpoint certain aspects for improvement. Results from these were then used to create Redesigned OPAC webpages and mobile screens of x. Conceptual frameworks Hierarchy of User Experience and Elements of User Experience were considered as fundamentals of User-Centered Design approach. Also, while not being a technical UI/UX resource, the book "The Laws of Simplicity : Design, Technology, Business, Life" by John Maeda served as design reference for this project.
