Abstract

Scenario planning is a vital process that every institution uses in order to become successful. Through scenario planning, institutions can prepare for the future by identifying vital information and creating multiple possible scenarios using that information.

This study aims to combine advance technological fields such as location analytics and machine learning with scenario planning to create a more potent tool for strategic planning. Additionally, this study also aims to verify if a viable business can be built around this augmented scenario planning tool.

Since scenario planning is comprehensive, this study will focus on the application's ability to support businesses in identifying optimal location(s). A brief discussion will cover land use planning as it is a field with similar mechanics to business location identification. Both of these fields display the importance of scenario planning, location analytics and machine learning which highlight the strength of the scenario planning application.
