Abstract
Agile software development involves several knowledge-intensive activities that support rapid and continuous delivery of software. It is crucial for managers and teams working in an Agile environment to have a good grasp on managing explicit and tacit knowledge and identify important artifacts to document. This project presents an overview of knowledge management good practices used by Agile teams and identifies software development artifacts that need to get documented. To aid with this project, three Agile practitioners were interviewed face to face and 79 Agile practitioners were surveyed on what tools and approaches they use to capture, store and access, share and transfer and use knowledge in their workplace. Furthermore, they were also asked on what items they think are important to document. From the responses from the interviews and surveys, it was examined that Agile teams manage knowledge through an assortment of tools and approaches that encourages collaboration, highlights human interaction, adapts to changing requirements, and promotes continuous improvement. This report describes and analyzes these knowledge management tools and approaches that Agile teams use.
