Abstract

In the advent of a technology-driven economy, organizations nowadays strive to find ways to make themselves relevant and competitive in the changing market. More importantly, organizations are starting to realize the vital role that the members of the organization as well as their learning and career development path play in creating high impact to the business. Hence, "digital" has also come into the L&D scene, innovating the ways employees continue to grow in their careers. This study aims to create an overall context of what digital learning is and how this is being applied in the Philippine setting. This study also explores on how digital learning creates an impact to the organization as a whole. What has been found out is that, digital learning is where corporate L&D is heading. In building a high-impact learning organization, digital learning is crucial in providing the necessary capabilities to achieve a learning culture. However, digital learning still has a lot of opportunities in being acknowledged and applied in organizations in the Philippines. Knowledge and exposure to the capabilities it offers and the ways to maximize its potential to deliver employee and organizational performance is of utmost importance. Also, it is crucial that digital learning impact be appropriately measured so that the learning experience of employees is being continuously improved. Finally, digital learning should be seen as a huge opportunity for L&D. This is the future, and organizations especially the L&D teams must be able to keep pace.
