Abstract
Agriculture is one of the major source of income of the Cordillerans specially in Benguet, Ifugao and a part of Mountain Province. With the advancement of agriculture technology and the effort of the government to promote Organic Agriculture or Organic Farming, farmers are slowly converting their agricultural practices from Conventional Agriculture to Organic Agriculture.
The main focus of this research is to assess the current setting of the supply and demand management of organic produce as well as the consumer demand for such commodities. From the assessment, the research aims to introduce technology and technology management concepts and applications to improve the current setting and possibly open doors for new opportunities.
The researcher used the IT Product Development (PD) or New Product Development (NPD) method for the pursuance of this research. Based on research, surveys and interviews, the research was able to validate the identified painpoints both on the side of the organic producers and the organic consumers. From the validated painpoints and solutions, the researcher was able to proceed with the development of personas, empathy map and customer journey map as well as the conceptualization of the technology framework.
The following conclusions have been drawn : (1) CAR farmers are facing a lot of issues and challenges in the growth, production of sales or organic produce, (2) there is a significant number of organic produce consumers who are willing to purchase organic produce from trusted online selling platforms, and (3) the development of a technology framework to improve the supply and demand management of organic produce is very viable.
