Abstract

This research delves on the research framework of the National Defense College of the Philippines by evaluating and assessing the presence of technology learning and environment of innovation within the institution. In addition, the study aims to create relevance on the impact of research and development in the defense industry in relation to the importance of established institutions that can create a change in the said industry. Based on the assessment of the NDCP's research framework, this study would also recommend possible research models that can be patterned with the NDCP.

To establish basis for this research, data has been gathered on the macro perspective agenda of the country's national security and other pertinent international practices in the defensive industry. This agenda is incorporated to the mandate and existing framework of the NDCP resulting in alignment and synchronization in the proposed research framework. Moreover, existing projects and programs have been cited as foundation of related literature that can support the importance of establishing a sound technology oriented and innovative environment in the NDCP.

Nowadays, the trend of technology and development in the defense industry is anchored on the role of research institutions and academia. Thus, it is of paramount importance that every potential research firm is tapped towards the competitive advantage of the Philippine defense industry and national security.
