Abstract
This study explored technological learning as the key component for an organization to achieve and sustain competitive advantage. Technological learning is the dynamic process involve in building the firm's technological capability; which is described as the accumulation of firm-specific assets, performed by an organization. Local firms believe that learning comes from various forms, characteristics, and sources. The ability to learn from the competitors and customers proved the firms' understanding of the competition. Moreover, learning from other resources such as the results of various research and development, members of the supply chain, and even directly or indirectly from other business activities, such as in the acquisition of technology are said to promote high technological learning. However, when challenged with uncertainties, how will the organization respond and what are the key factors that may affect business decisions in the present to prepare for these future uncertainties. This paper pointed out the significance of scenario building in anticipating and preparing for the plausible future events. To boost this study, current viewpoint regarding technological learning by representatives of the local firms were collected. It is believed that after delivering the result of the scenario building activity, decision makers of the local organizations may be encouraged to contemplate and improve their current view on the importance of technological learning and its overall business contribution.
