Executive Summary

LBR Philcrafts (LBR) is a small-size enterprise specializing in handicraft products made of capiz. With capiz as its raw material, LBR is able to create artistic household handicrafts such as photo frames, bowls, tea light holders, boxes, plates, bathroom accessories, and vases, among others. It is a single proprietorship firm that owns by Ms. Roseleah B. Reyes. With the scale of the business, the owner serves as the business developer, marketing staff, product designer, production manager, quality control head, and shipment personnel. The current state of the firm leads to identifying the potential technology that can address some of the issues in the production process. This main target is to help the owner and the entire staff to solve monitoring issues, compliance, documentation of the projects in the company, and have an inventory management system using an automated order management and inventory management system using an automated order management and inventory management. Using this new system, the firm will minimize the human-dependent process in the order-filling system of LBR Philcrafts by removing the manual project monitoring process, allowing to monitor the project status and digitization of the documents used in the process of LBR. Using the Knowledge Management (KM) tools presented by Dr. Serafin D. Talisayon, the project was able to gathered data that is applicable and suitable to come up with the new system. The project will utilize both Behavioral and Technically-oriented KM tools to arrive with an appropriate technology. Using the tools, the project identified key steps in the business process in the pre-production, production and post production stage of the firm. The project identified six (6) possible free open-source software packages that can be used for this project and using the criteria sets by the project proponent, Google Site and Google Documents were use for the Order Management System. The new system is called the Order Management System. It is a system that is designed for the LBR Philcraft's production activities and inventory management. The system utilized the Google Site and Google Documentation platform. Using the Google Site, the site shows main tab that can help the processes of the firm : (1) Process flow, (2) Customer's Purchase Order (PO), (3) Material Requisition, (4) Supplier's Quotation, (5) Purchase Order, (6) Inventory, (7) Material Requests, (8) Material Issuance, (9) Project Schedule and (10) Delivery Report.
