Abstract

Advancement of technology promises a good amount of quality of life by answering the society's pain points. The introduction of Smart City is a resolute to this by creating an autonomy of a city from the manual way of doing things through automation and data analysis. The Philippines has yet to produce a Smart City, and the aim of this study is to identify the socio-technical feasibility of Bonifacio Global City to be a Smart City.

This study aims to provide a picture of what a Smart City is and how can BGC can attain it. It delineates the factors that BGC needs to undertake through the use of tools like STEEP and SWOT analysis.

BGC's readiness can be attributed to its network configuration, security, and overall urban city planning endeavors. Its Smart City transformation still has a lot of components to be considered, but what stands out is its call for a masterplan that will encompass the elements known from the existing Smart City configurations. This study's output provides recommendations on how these can be replicated in making BGC a Smart City.
