Abstract
This paper aims to assess the digital transformation readiness of a non-government organization. The assessment focus on Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) as the case study. RAFI operates both in Visayas and Mindanao with Education, Integrated Development, Micro-finance and Intrapreneurship, Culture and Heritage, and Leadership and Citizenship as the key programs.
The digital transformation readiness for NGO looked at current state in the context of business, people and technology which further deep-dive on the digital transformation building blocks such as vision, strategy, metrics, stakeholder engagement, organizational change, information, process and technology innovation. A focused-group discussion or FGD was also conducted to validate the current state of the mentioned building blocks. Part of the study was to audit the digital assets or the technology tools and systems and check how these technologies contribute to the over all vision of RAFI. Overall, the researcher looked at the digital maturity level of RAFI and check how it can advance to the next level. There are 5 levels of the digital transformation maturity which is further discussed in the conclusion and recommendation part.
The results of the study noted that RAFI is at level 2.5 which means that efforts are still uncoordinated, and most likely done underground, and that there's an indication that RAFI recognizes the need to build a digital ready organization. Hence, the recommendation is to move to level 3 and solidy its efforts on improving the critical processes in the areas of stakeholder engagement, revisit the processes both internal and external factors, and the technology aspect as one of the elements in achieving the vision of RAFI.
As a conclusion, the recommendation of the study is to improve the digital maturity level to better support the current and future needs of RAFI. Rebuild and strengthen the operating model to build a future proof operations. And then, implement a full digital transformation once the identified quick wins are addressed.
